JLG Forklift Parts

Following retirement in the late 1960's, John L. Grove set out on a cross country RV expedition. After spending many years establishing his family built crane company with his brother, John had no idea that this journey would give birth to the rise of JLG Industries, Inc. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling equipment was the end result of a road trip.

While on their trip, John spent time conversing with former business acquaintances whom the Groves stopped to visit along the way. These conversations combined with a tragic occurrence—two workers being electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were traveling to the Hoover Dam— John uncovered a vast marketplace for a product that could quickly and safely elevate individuals in the air to accomplish maintenance and other construction functions.

After returning from their vacation, John set up a partnership with two of his friends and purchased a metal fabrication company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Starting with a small crew of twenty staff, they produced and sold their first JLG aerial work platform in 1970. The business incorporates many of the basic design elements of that original lift into current versions.

Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a great distance from when Mr. John L. Grove returned from his fatefull cross-country trip and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the market. As of today, the business has expanded itself into many different global marketplaces and continues to cultivate new machinery to guarantee that customers are able to become safer and more efficient within their workplace.
